Illegal Immigration

Why is everyone so focused on bad rapping the American government on their immigration policies? Doensn't Mexico have some responsibility in this? After all, it is their citizens that are leaving the country in droves for a better life!

If the citizens of Mexico (including the dual citizens living outside their country) would take more interest in their own government's affairs and work toward eliminating the corruption and incompetence in their government, maybe the economic climate would change.

For those who say that our companies and economies would not operate without the low paid positions that illegal now occupy: I say, those jobs and companies are detrimental to our economy and should go away! If a company cannot survive while offering a living wage to its employees, it should not be in business. It pulls our entire economy down.

The U.S. could do more by not being afraid to crack down severely on business that hire illegal immigrants. Shut them down after being caught a second time! Provide emergency medical care for illegals, but then directly bill the Mexican government for this care, along with any other assistance or law enforcement costs. make this an unforgivable debt to Mexico that will keep escalating as long as Mexico takes no action to curb illegal immigration of its citizens.

Instead of gaining monetary benefits from the illegal immigration of its people (which in my understanding is nearly 5% of their gross national product), the Mexican government must be made to experience a loss to their economy and culture through the loss of their greatest asset, their own people!
